The micro home problem
A Micro Home is supposed to be a flexible answer, but the area constriction is a problem that pushes the designers to create minimal and enclosed objects that limit the house capabilities and amenities for the user. Regardless of the 25m2 limit, the micro home should have generous spaces, and take the area constriction as an opportunity to explore and propose. The MH house seeks dynamic, efficient, and transformable spaces, without limiting activities and creating different atmospheres. When multiple MH houses come together, we aim to nurture the community by sharing the space between the house modules.
The “recipe” in housing
A house requires a sleeping area, living room, workspace, kitchen, bathroom, and storage. This conception of the house also makes the spaces and activities look limited, crowded, and monotonous even more in a 25m2 house. The MH house has an open plan for users to occupy as they see fit, a space to meditate, discuss, project, paint, dance, etc. The open plan has 11m2 that can have multiple uses and eliminates the need for aisles. That area added to the utility space and furniture area results in an 11m2 bedroom, 14m2 kitchen, 13m2 workspace or private office, and a 5m2 bathroom. All within the walls of a 3.8m x 6.5m Micro Home.
